My Website WPJA

Greetings all and welcome to my world. My name is Bruce Mayhill and I am the owner, lead photographer, and head dishwasher of Mayhill Photo. Here you will be able to get a chance to see photos from recent weddings and portrait sessions as well as see what sort of ridiculous things I am up to in my personal life.

I recently moved to Concord, NC (just outside of Charlotte) from Los Angeles, CA. My lungs are still getting used to the fresh air while my wife is still getting used to the possibility of snow! I am primarily a wedding photographer and my recipe for great wedding photography is a carefully crafted formula consisting of the following: a documentary approach, a touch of traditionalism (so as to appease Grandma!), and fashion shoot attitude. This is all touched off with a mild-spicy dash of insanity. Fasten your seatbelt, this is not going to be a boring ride!

What do Chinese food and Austrian weddings have in common?

You guessed it...NOTHING.

But, the other night I ran down to my "favorite" little take-out place for some quick Chinese food and while I was waiting, I got a call from my awesome couple (Alex and Pat) that got married in Vienna, Austria. Yeah, basically they scolded me for not posting some photos from their wedding here on the blog...ooops!

Now, I know you are just plain curious about my dinner the other night so, here ya go. Pretty much, it sucked.

The wonton soup was average. The wontons were overly doughy and there just wasn't much flavor. The chicken and broccoli was not a winner either. A non-flavorful sauce over dry chicken does not a good dish make. One of my absolute favorites is Hot and Sour Soup. Yeah, this was neither hot nor sour.

The best thing about this soup was the re-usable container that it came in. Perhaps I can go there and just purchase the container and kindly ask them not to put any food in it. The Lo Mein was good! Oh happy day!

Basically, I spent $26 on some great noodles and a few re-usable plastic containers. The search for decent Chinese take-out continues!

So, now that you are not hungry...watch the slideshow below!

Thanks you two! I had a great time and loved being part of your special day!

Nice work, Bruce!!! These are really incredible! The balloons were such a nice touch, I've never seen that at a wedding before.
I LOVE Chinese food! Unfortunately, we only have a handful of really terrible places around here ... but just like you -- great reusable containers!! lol I've built up quite a collection :D
