Weddings Engagements Portraits Fun Stuff Slide Shows News
My Website WPJA

Greetings all and welcome to my world. My name is Bruce Mayhill and I am the owner, lead photographer, and head dishwasher of Mayhill Photo. Here you will be able to get a chance to see photos from recent weddings and portrait sessions as well as see what sort of ridiculous things I am up to in my personal life.

I recently moved to Concord, NC (just outside of Charlotte) from Los Angeles, CA. My lungs are still getting used to the fresh air while my wife is still getting used to the possibility of snow! I am primarily a wedding photographer and my recipe for great wedding photography is a carefully crafted formula consisting of the following: a documentary approach, a touch of traditionalism (so as to appease Grandma!), and fashion shoot attitude. This is all touched off with a mild-spicy dash of insanity. Fasten your seatbelt, this is not going to be a boring ride!

Action and adventure in Rock Hill!

So, it has been a bit busy around here lately but I did get a chance to go to dinner at my cousin's new house in Rock Hill, SC for dinner recently. Great food (I think she must be part Chinese), a good action game of Jenga, and great company. It was me, my wife, my two cousins and my brother in law. My sister had to leave early as she had just gotten done working 192,000 hours straight so no game fun for her. And, I didn't take any photos of the food because I was too busy eating it!

And let's not forget about Honey! My cousin's cutie-pie beast! Good times!

Looks vicious doesn't she!

My Brother-in-Law only wishes that they weren't all related!

This has to be a new world record.

Yours truly!
Notice my cousin in utter amazement of my techique!?

It was a great time. Thanks for having us over.

Holy Crap! What a great wedding tonight!

Tonight I had the distinct pleasure of photographing the wedding of Kevin and Jennifer. What a great time it was. There will be more great photos to follow but right now I am off to bed.

Thanks for having me you two!

This photo was taken during their first dance. Good times.

Be sure to check back for more photos from this awesome wedding.

Central Park Engagement Session

So here we were in Central Park trying to fly under the radar and not get in trouble for permit issues and such. My assistant was holding a light, carrying my stuff, ordering pizza (you know, the typical Bruce Mayhill assistant duties) so remaining inconspicuous was not all that easy. Not to mention that we had two hotties running around being photographed.

Shelly and Huang Ruo looked awesome! They were in the mood for just about everything. I still think it would have been cool if they jumped off the bridge though! Maybe next time. It was a great time and I can't wait to go back to NYC and run around again.

(Special thanks to Thai for helping me out while I was in town)

A trip to NYC

So last week I was in NYC for the very first time. Fun stuff! One of the reasons that I was up there was to photograph this next couple for their engagement session. Alex and Pat (short for Alexandra and Patrick), are getting married in Vienna, Austria this summer and we are going to have a great time. As you can see, they are up for anything.

They were fantastic hosts while I was in town and we had a great time and I can't wait to shoot their wedding, it is gonna be fun, fun, fun.

Recent Engagement Session in Charlotte

Recentlty I had the opportunity to photograph this couple. Anul and Bijal called me up and said that they needed somebody to cover their engagement party. Since they were getting married out of town, they needed somebody local to hang out and shoot their upcoming engagement ceremony/party. I was happy to inform them that I am available for non-local weddings too. Well, it doesn't get much more non-local than Ahmedabad, India.

Can you imagine? This couple was great to photograph locally so in an amazing location it would be awesome. They were a lot of fun and as you can see, pretty smokin'! I can only imagine the great results that would come from shooting their wedding.

Congratulations you two!

Ahhh...it is finally here!

So here it is, the new blog!

Like me, it needs a few tweaks here and there, but what can you do. I think it will be a fantastic addition and I will be updating on a regular basis so that I don't get any more death threats. (You know who you are!)

So, please come back often as things will be changing pretty quickly around here!

(Comments always welcome!)
